I’m already building something and want to take it further
One thing I’m really proud of is creating community-centered events in Mobile through both my work as an Event Coordinator and through my own creative projects like Yap Society. I love bringing people together and creating experiences that make people feel connected, welcomed, and excited about their city. A project I’m especially proud of was creating “The Book Was Better,” an outdoor movie night inspired by the love of books, film, and community. I helped build the concept from the ground up, including the branding, marketing, social media promotion, vendor coordination, partnerships, and interactive activities for attendees. Seeing people show up, engage with the experience, and enjoy themselves made all the hard work worth it. I’m also proud of helping grow my family’s business, A&J Catering. I’ve supported the business through marketing, event coordination, content creation, and organization while helping us connect with more customers and opportunities in our community. What makes me most proud is being able to take an idea that starts small and turn it into something real that people can experience and remember. Creating things that bring people joy and connection is something I’m passionate about, and it’s shown me that entrepreneurship is not just about business, but also about impact.
