Something they're proud of

One project I am especially proud of is Sentinel Campus, an emergency intelligence system designed to improve how colleges respond to student medical and safety situations. While it was a team project, I made major contributions to the system design, user flow, and core features. Sentinel Campus is built as a university-integrated layer on Apple’s ecosystem, connecting students, campus police, and administrators through faster, more reliable communication. In an emergency, a student can activate the system instantly using their iPhone or Apple Watch. It then generates a structured, AI-powered summary including location, identity, and critical health information (with consent), which is sent directly to campus police or emergency services to improve response time and clarity. I also contributed to the idea of post-incident verification. After an emergency, students can upload medical documentation, which is securely verified and converted into official, university-ready records for professors or administrators. This addresses a common issue where students struggle to provide timely, credible documentation. This project stands out to me because it combines technical design with real-world impact. It pushed me to think about how systems should function in high-stress situations and how technology can reduce delays, improve communication, and better support students when it matters most.

Weekly submissions (3)
Week 1

Project Name: TrashOut, 1-Liner: A hyperlocal platform connecting people across Alabama to community service, local needs, and civic action.

Week 2

TrashOut- A platform that connects people with community service opportunities, local needs, and volunteer initiatives across Alabama.

This week, I refined my project idea and developed an initial prototype of TrashOut using HTML, CSS, and AI-assisted development tools. I focused on designing the user experience, including a social feed, community impact metrics, volunteer opportunities, and local community needs. One challenge was determining how to make the platform engaging enough for users to return regularly while still keeping the focus on community service and impact.

Week 3

Trashout-A platform connecting people across Alabama to community service, local needs, and civic action.

This week, I focused on creating and sharing a marketing video for TrashOut. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that effective marketing is not about explaining every feature, but about communicating the problem you’re solving and why it matters to people. While the video highlights TrashOut’s illegal dumping reporting feature, it represents just one part of a larger platform focused on community engagement and service. I also worked on refining how I communicate the vision behind the project and gathering feedback from others.
